In this guide, I’ll tell you about my favorite places to enjoy classical music in Prague. Let’s dive in!

Many churches and palaces host concerts with small ensembles, soloists, or organ performances. These concerts usually last about an hour and are great for a relaxed, atmospheric experience.

St. Nicholas Church at Old Town Square

This beautiful church is famous for its stunning interior and excellent acoustics, where every visitor can enjoy the magic of a baroque church along with pleasant classical music concerts, which have become a beloved tradition here over many years.

Inside the dimly lit church, you’ll be enchanted by the play of shapes, beautiful decorations, and magnificent chandelier, a masterpiece of Czech crystal.

The quality of these concerts is guaranteed by select artists who also perform at the National Theatre and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. They often play music by Bach, Mozart, and Vivaldi here.

Tip: There are two churches of St. Nicholas in city center of Prague, so make sure you’re going to the right one on the Old Town Square. The other, more famous for its architecture, is in Lesser Town (Malá Strana) across the river.

Mirror Chapel in Klementinum

Tip: Make sure you go to the right St. Salvator Church in Klementinum complex on Křižovnická Street, right by Charles Bridge on the Old Town side. There are three churches of St. Salvator in Prague’s city center, so double-check the location before your visit.

Tip #2: Before heading to the concert, visit the Old Town Bridge Tower, right next to Charles Bridge. Climb to the top for one of the best panoramic views of Prague, especially at sunset!

Church of St. Giles in Old Town

St. Giles Church is a hidden gem in Prague’s Old Town, offering a magical setting for classical music concerts. This Gothic church, later enriched with stunning Baroque decorations, has a rich history dating back to the 14th century.

Its stunning frescoes and grand pillars create a unique setting for concerts. The church’s rare 1733 Baroque-Romantic organ, known for its exceptional sound, attracts organists from around the world.
