Large and beautifully blooming magnolia trees can create the right spring atmosphere in Prague every year. The magnolia is found here in various species and shades and was named after the French botanist Pierre Magnol.

Traditionally, the almond trees in the Seminary Garden are the first to bloom. Not long after, we can also expect spring in various places in Prague with colourful blossoms of charming magnolias. Vojan Gardens

In Vojan Gardens (Vojanovy sady) in Lesser Town you will find several magnolia trees. This picturesque garden welcomes you with an unusual variant of magnolia with pure white flowers as soon as you enter. The back part of the garden is also home to dozens of peacocks that roam freely around the garden.

Franciscan Garden

The Franciscan Garden (Frantiskanska zahrada) is not only a pleasant shortcut between Wenceslas Square and Narodni Street, but also a unique place where you can experience a piece of nature in the middle of the bustling city. Next to the Baroque garden pavilion, a magnolia tree grows surrounded by beds of other flowers. The adjacent Church of Our Lady of the Snows, characterised by the unusual absence of a tower, adds to the overall atmosphere.

Wallenstein Garden

The charming early Baroque Wallenstein Garden (Valdstejnska zahrada) is part of the Wallenstein Palace in the Lesser Town, the seat of the Senate of the Czech Republic. One whole side of the garden pond with a fountain is decorated with a row of beautiful magnolias. The garden also has white peacocks living inside.

One of Prague’s magnolias, which beautifully decorates the right bank of the Vltava River and complements the surrounding environment near the statue of Josef Manes, is located on the Ales embankment (Alsovo nabrezi) near the Rudolfinum Concert Hall.
