Must-Have Apps for Prague: Navigate, Eat & Explore Like a Local 2025

Traveling to Prague? Your phone can be your best travel companion with the right apps. From navigating the city to finding the best food and keeping your trip hassle-free, here are the must-have mobile apps for Prague recommended by local.
Getting Around Prague
Navigating Prague is easy with these essential apps:
Mapy.cz
This Czech app offers far more detail than other maps. Find info on sights, statues, and plaques, public restrooms or water fountains to refill your bottle. Hikers love Mapy.cz. It’s has the best touristic maps in the world and it’s the go-to map even for the Pacific Crest Trail. Download Prague or Czech maps in advance for full offline access, including trails, bike paths, and hidden shortcuts.

PID Lítačka
Prague’s official public transport app makes buying tickets easy, whether for a single ride or longer durations like 24, 48, or 72 hours. If you plan to use public transport more than once, a day or multi-day ticket is your best bet. Just buy, activate it once, and enjoy unlimited travel without any hassle—hop on and off trams, buses, and the metro as you like.
IDOS
A comprehensive public transport app that covers not just Prague but the entire Czech Republic. While the PID Lítačka app also offers a route planner, I find IDOS much more user-friendly, making it my go-to for navigating the city and beyond.

Taxi apps in Prague
Taxi service in Prague doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to overcharging tourists. It’s safer to use apps where you can see the price upfront:
Bolt & Uber
The most popular and budget-friendly options for getting around Prague. Prices are usually lower than traditional taxis, and you can see the fare upfront before booking. I personally use both, I always check both apps before ordering to compare availability, prices, and any ongoing promotions.
Liftago
A Czech taxi app that gives you more control over your ride. Unlike Bolt and Uber, it connects you with licensed taxi drivers and lets you compare prices before choosing a driver. It’s a great option if you prefer a more regulated service with professional drivers. And if you want to support local business.
Bikesharing apps in Prague
Exploring Prague by bike is a fun and efficient way to get around, especially in flat city center areas alongside the Vltava river.
You can find bike lanes in the outdoor layer of the Mapy.cz app, which I recommended earlier. If possible, don’t forget to wear a helmet and stay extra cautious in traffic. Remember, cycling on sidewalks is not allowed, and you must walk your bike across pedestrian crossings.
Here are the two main bikesharing services:
Rekola
Recognizable by their signature pink bikes, Rekola is ideal for short city rides. Use the app to find the nearest bike and start riding. You’ll also see designated parking spots, which are plentiful throughout the city. Rekola is a Czech company, and as a fun touch, each bike has its own name. You can find out who or what it’s named after in the app. Great for spontaneous trips and quick commutes!

Nextbike
Another bikesharing provider in Prague is Nextbike, which you might recognize from other European cities. You can use the same app to rent a bike here. Like Rekola, Nextbike bikes must be picked up and returned at designated spots, which you can find in the app. They have a smaller basket but more gears, making them a great option for tackling Prague’s hilly terrain outside the city center.
I won’t be recommending electric scooters here, as Prague’s city center isn’t the best place for them. The narrow, cobblestone streets make riding uncomfortable and even risky due to the small wheels. Plus, keep in mind that riding e-scooters on sidewalks is strictly prohibited.
Prague Carsharing Apps
If you need a car for a short trip or to run errands, carsharing is a convenient and cost-effective alternative to traditional rentals. These services let you unlock a car with an app and pay only for the time you use it, whether it’s a few minutes or several hours.
Anytime & Bolt Drive
My two go-to choices when I need a ride. I use both and simply check which one has a car closer at the moment. You pay per minute and per kilometer driven, with rates depending on the size and class of the car. For small cars and short distances, the cost can be comparable to a public transport ticket.

Car4Way
A Czech-based carsharing service with a large fleet available across Prague, perfect for both short and longer journeys.
Trains apps in Prague and Czechia
Traveling outside Prague? Trains are one of the best ways to explore the Czech Republic and beyond. These apps make booking and planning your trips easy:
Můj vlak (České dráhy) – The official app for the national train service. You can check timetables, book tickets, reserve seats, and even see platform details for your journey.
RegioJet – A private train and bus company offering affordable short and long-distance travel. Their trains often have better services than standard Czech Railways, and my favourite on board menu.
Apps for Parking in Prague
Driving in Prague can be tricky, and finding a parking spot is often a challenge. The city has various parking zones, and you’ll need an app to manage payments:
Mapy.cz & PID Lítačka
You can process payment for parking through Mapy.cz and PID Lítačka app. In the street detail, you can see the colour of parking zones and when click it, you can see the details such as rates and maximum parking length.
EasyPark – This app helps you locate available parking spots and pay for parking directly through your phone, making city driving much more convenient. You can also update the parking time flexibly, but they charge a fee for using this app. Going through Mapy.cz is a bit cheaper.
Food Delivery & Groceries in Prague
Whether you’re craving a restaurant meal or need groceries delivered to your door, these apps make ordering effortless:
Bolt Food & Wolt
The go-to food delivery apps for restaurant meals in Prague. Both offer a wide range of restaurants, and frequent promotions help you save on delivery fees.

Rohlík & Košík
Online grocery stores delivering fresh products, household essentials, and even ready-to-eat meals straight to your home. Rohlik has a premium selection, while Košík often offers competitive pricing.
Nesnězeno (Munch) & Too Good To Go
Perfect for budget-conscious and eco-friendly foodies! These apps help reduce food waste by letting you buy surplus food from restaurants, bakeries, and cafés at a discount. You won’t always know exactly what you’ll get, but that’s part of the fun.
McDonald’s
While you might not associate McDonald’s with must-have apps, the McDonald’s app offers great deals and discounts on fast food, making it worth downloading if you need a quick, cheap bite.
Mobile Apps for Foodies in Prague
Want to explore Prague’s best food and drink spots like a local? These apps will lead you to the best bites in town:
European Coffee Trip
A must-have for coffee lovers! This app helps you discover top-notch specialty coffee spots in Prague and across Europe. The only downside? You might never want to step into a random, unlisted café again!
Gastromapa Lukáše Hejlíka
Created by Czech foodie Lukáš Hejlík, this app features an ever-growing list of top-rated restaurants, bistros, and cafés across the country.
Czech Specials
If you want to experience authentic Czech cuisine, this app highlights traditional dishes and the best places to try them.
Raisin – Love natural wine? Raisin guides you to the best natural wine bars and shops in Prague, ensuring you get to taste something truly unique.
Other Useful Apps
Here are a few extra apps to make your stay in Prague smoother:
Revolut
Great for international travelers, offering an easy way to manage payments and exchange currency. It also supports eSIM for mobile data.
Meteoradar
A weather app that helps you track sudden weather changes in Prague.
Na Ovoce
A unique app showing locations of freely available fruit trees and berry bushes around Prague.
Záchranka
A Czech emergency app that connects you directly to local rescue services in case of an accident.
Having the right apps can make your trip to Prague much more convenient, whether you’re navigating the city, finding great food, or ensuring your safety. Download a few of these before your trip to make the most of your time in the Czech capital.
